During the winter of 1942-1943, it was a 1st Armored Division decimated which was re-equipped with modern German equipment such as the Pz.Kpfw IV (T-4). At the end of 1944 these tanks, after the reversal of alliance of Romania served within the 2nd Armored Regiment against the former German allies, while retaining the German -type camouflage.

These markings was used on Romanian T-4 after this country had switched side in August 1944.
