Artist's View
! The project was abandoned because the Churchill Crocodile was already fully satisfactory despite its slowness and the Comet was far too precious as a standard battle tank, still very rare at the end of the war. In addition, if we consider that the excellent 77 mm gun of the Comet, would finally provide to a British tank, an effective range sufficient to compete with the German tanks at a long distance, it is a bit appalling to graft a flame thrower which is a weapon of very short range for a use as an infantry support tank! |
