Regia Marina actually had an aircraft carrier, obtained by converting a transatlantic ship called the Roma. The carrier's name was Aquila (Eagle), and the program for the conversion was called Operazione Roma, hence the acronym OR following the aircraft name.
Proposed Carrier-borne fighter version for the carrier Aquila, 50 built. First addition of wing-mounted machine guns to development and optional cannon, able to carry a 600 kg torpedo or bomb as standard.
