Variants
Improved version. Yak-9D incorporating certain modifications from earlier versions, including the remote cockpit of the Yak-9T. A version was developed specifically for the PVO (air defense): designed for night hunting, it had a Klimov VK-105PF2 engine of 1240 horsepower, a reduced fuel capacity, radio-navigation equipment RPK-10.
Derived version of the Yak-9M. Powered by a Klimov VK-105PF, armed with one NS-23 cannon (60 rounds) and two B-20 cannons (120 rounds each). Was deemed inferior to Yak-9U and Yak-3 and not mass produced.
